PRESS RELEASE LECTURE: RICHARD BEELAND

Richard Beeland, Media Relations Director for the Mayor’s office, was down to earth and easy to understand. His advice was to simplify all writing, so that anyone with at least an eighth grade education could understand it . What impressed me the most however, was his advice to apologize immediately when you “rub a client the wrong way”. Both his acknowledgement that he has on occasion, come at someone unfairly, and his solution to this problem were very endearing. I’m sure he is easy to work with and also a good listener.
